You have applied for your council tax to be reduced using the powers under Section 13A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992.

As an applicant, you will need to complete a Standard Finance Statement (SFS), which is a review of the income and expenditure in your household. The SFS allows for reasonable expenditure when analysing your income and outgoings.

We will also consider whether the Council Tax liability could be reduced in another manner, such as award of a statutory discount or entitlement to Council Tax Support. The SFS helps us to determine whether all reasonable steps have been taken to resolve the financial situation that you are in.

Please complete our budgeting and benefit calculator (which completes the SFS for you) to ensure no further delay in your application.

We may contact you for further evidence or clarification.
