Crematorium opening times

November 18 Update: Eltham Crematorium is currently having a new Gas Main installed and unfortunately these works will affect weekend access and specific areas within our beautiful surroundings for a while.

To allow the works to progress, the in road will be closed at certain times during the weekends and additional traffic management systems will be in operation.

Please can we ask all visitors not to park in the residential streets adjacent to the Crematorium and consider alternative forms of transport during the weekends.

Eltham Crematorium and Cemetery are open:

  • 1 October to 31 March – 9am to 4pm
  • 1 April to 30 September – 9am to 7pm
  • All Bank Holidays – 9am to 4pm

Book of Remembrance Chapel and The Flower Pavilion are open daily, and will close 15 minutes before the cemetery & crematorium grounds:

  • 1 October to 31 March – 9am to 3.45pm
  • 1 April to 30 September – 9am to 6.45pm
  • All Bank Holidays – 9am to 3.45pm

Please be aware the automatic doors to the Flower Pavilion are currently being repaired and may be inoperable when you visit.

If you need any assistance with access, please ask one of the team on site or those working in the main office opposite the West Chapel for help.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst these essential improvement works take place.

The chapels at Eltham Crematorium

There are two non-denominational chapels located at Eltham Crematorium. The West Chapel allows 72 seated visitors and the North Chapel allows 100 seated visitors. We strongly recommended the wearing of face coverings when inside the chapels and adjacent buildings.

Both Chapels have designated seating areas for Vulnerable or High-Risk mourners, please notify your Funeral Director if these designated areas will be required by any of your family or friends attending a service.

Standing is allowed however we will continue to monitor this to ensure overcrowding does not take place, excessive mourners are requested to remain outside the Chapel entrance and all attendees are asked to scan the QR Code adjacent to the Chapel Entrance.

Those who are experiencing coronavirus symptoms must not attend.
