Crematorium opening times
The Chapel of Remembrance and the Flower Pavilion remain closed until further notice as social distancing cannot be maintained inside these buildings.
Due to the large number of floral tributes normally placed in the Flower Pavilion for Mother’s Day an additional space has been created where flowers can be left. This area is located in the Garden of Remembrance against the rear wall of the North Cloisters by the large oak tree, located to the right as you enter the grounds.
All tributes left on or after 4 March will not be removed until Thursday 18 March.
The Pavilion Flower Shop remains open daily.
There is a limit of 30 mourners to all funeral services and those who are experiencing coronavirus symptoms must not attend.
All visitors, mourners and Funeral Directors are required to maintain social distancing, with two metres between attendees. The wearing of a face covering is mandatory for all mourners as per government legislation.
Additional mourners are not allowed to stand outside the Chapels or in the car park as this prevents safe passage for other families attending their service.
The scattering of ashes, stone settings and wakes are now limited to a maximum limit of six attendees.
Office opening hours
The crematorium office is open to Funeral Directors but closed to visitors:
Appointments for the family to collect or inter cremated remains in the Garden of Remembrance are available by contacting the office on 020 8921 6700, between the hours from 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday.
It is closed on weekends and bank holidays.
The Eltham Cemetery and Crematorium is currently undergoing improvement works to its buildings, gates and perimeter fences.
The majority of this work needs to be carried out at weekends to prevent any disturbance to the funerals during the week.
We have agreed with our contractors that deliveries take place outside of our opening hours, however at times we may need to close the entry and exit roads to vehicles at the weekends for short period of time to allow specific works to take place.
The pedestrian gates in Riefield Road and Rochester Way will remain open during these times.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
