Coronavirus COVID-19: Latest updates

Many council services are reduced or disrupted. Check our coronavirus page for the most up-to-date information. Read the latest and sign up for updates.

Crematorium opening times

The Garden of Remembrance, Plaque Courts, Memorial Niches and Eltham Cemetery will be open every day, from 9am to 4pm.

The Chapel of Remembrance and the Flower Pavilion will remain closed until further notice as social distancing cannot be maintained inside these buildings. Due to the large number of floral tributes normally placed in the Flower Pavilion during the festive season we have created an additional space where flowers can be left during the Christmas period - from 17 December 2020 to 7 January 2021. This area is located in the Garden of Remembrance against the rear wall of the North Cloisters by the large Oak tree, located on the right as you enter the grounds.

The Pavilion Flower Shop remains open daily.

We understand wholeheartedly how difficult this is for many people, but we must ensure the safety of our residents.

There is a limit of 30 mourners to all funeral services and those who are experiencing coronavirus symptoms must not attend.

All visitors, mourners and Funeral Directors are required to maintain social distancing, with two metres between attendees. The wearing of a face covering is mandatory for all mourners as per government legislation.

Additional mourners are not allowed to stand outside the Chapels or in the car park as this prevents safe passage for other families attending their service.

Office opening hours

The crematorium office is open to Funeral Directors but closed to visitors:

Appointments for the family to collect or inter cremated remains in the Garden of Remembrance are available by contacting the office on 020 8921 6700, between the hours from 9am – 4pm Monday to Friday.

It is closed on weekends and bank holidays.
