Towels 

If it’s hard to reach and dry yourself with a towel, we may recommend: 

  • towel dressing gown 
  • mounted body dryer 

Toothbrush or shavers 

If it’s hard to grip a toothbrush, shaver or razor, we may recommend:  

  • electric toothbrush or electric shaver  
  • large handled toothbrush 
  • pump dispensing toothpaste or dispensing toothpaste into a container 
  • powdered toothpaste 

Nail care 

If you need help cleaning your nails, we may recommend a:

  • nail brush 
  • nail clippers 

Time of day 

If you cannot tell the time of day due to low vision, remembering information or orientation, we may recommend:  

  • using an alarm clock, mobile phone or watch alarms to notify you of certain times of the day 
  • a talking clock or an easy-to-read clock with large numbers   
  • devices that will remind you when to take your medication  
  • online device that’ll prompt you of the time 
  • a mobile phone to set reminders or alarms 

Medication 

If you need help remembering when to take medication or help getting your medication out, we may recommend: 

  • pharmacy packed medication without pop out packets 
  • dosette box 
  • device that reminds you when to take your medication 

Alarms and sensors 

If its hard to hear, see or remember things, we may recommend alarms and sensors like:  

  • telecare sensors that can notify someone you trust or emergency services 
  • online devices like Amazon Alexa or Google Home 
  • movement sensors like Just Checking or Canary Systems which can notify someone you trust of your activity in case of falls
