About our SEND services

Our SEND services support educational settings and schools to improve outcomes for children and young people with a range of learning needs. This includes autism, dyslexia, Down's syndrome, Deafness and vision impairment. 

Specialist staff help children achieve the best outcomes they can by providing programmes of:

  • assessment
  • training
  • support
  • resources 

There are eight SEND services designed to meet the needs of children and young people: 

  • SEND Outreach services which includes the:
    • Autism Outreach Service
    • Early Years Inclusion Service (EYIS)
    • Sensory Team for Deaf and vision impaired children
    • Support Team for Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (STEPS)
  • Educational Psychology and Well-being Service
  • SEND Assessment and Review Team
  • Disabled Children and Young People Service (DCYPS)
  • Virtual School and Inclusive Services
