Support Team for Education in Primary and Secondary Schools (STEPS)

We promote the inclusion of pupils with additional needs by providing:

  • assessments of children’s learning needs
  • personalised learning programmes
  • one-to-one specialist dyslexia assessment and teaching
  • advice on best practice for children with complex needs, including Down syndrome
  • support for transitions between key phases
  • support on the implementation of specialist interventions in schools

 We work with schools to provide:

  • outreach support
  • a range of training opportunities to develop understanding of high quality inclusive practice and assessment
  • support to gain the dyslexia-friendly school quality mark
  • advice and support on creating safe and inclusive learning environments in classrooms

Costs

We do not charge schools and other education providers in Royal Greenwich for any of our core services.

We charge for:

  • additional and bespoke training that’s not part of our core offer
  • dyslexia assessments from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4
  • exam access arrangement assessments
