What’s allowed in our parks and open spaces 

Our parks and open spaces are for everyone to enjoy. We have a set of byelaws that outline what’s allowed. To keep them safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.

What we allow 

We allow: 

  • mobility scooters
  • dogs, but you must:
  • have a maximum 4 dogs with you
  • clean up after them
  • keep them under control and be considerate of other park users 

What we do not allow 

  • Advertising and posting notices
  • Barbecues and fires
  • Drones 

What you’ll need permission for 

You must get permission to carry out any of these activities in our parks or open spaces: 

  • busking and performances
  • fireworks displays
  • trading or selling goods
  • horse riding
  • flyposting
  • erecting tents, marquees and other temporary structures

Events 

You’ll need to apply to host an event in a park or open space. You cannot host events outside areas where permission has been granted.
