Royal Greenwich owns around14,500 street trees and it welcomes individual residents and businesses to sponsor the planting of new trees each year, within a limited quota.
The cost is £450 per tree and this covers the council’s expenses of providing the tree, its planting, and preliminary surveys to determine the best practical locations for its ongoing survival. The tree would be chosen by Royal Greenwich and remain its property and responsibility for its lifetime.
The tree planting programme will take place from November to March, meaning payment is required by October.
