Disposing of clothes and other textiles
You can dispose of clean clothing, footwear, knitwear, bed linen and other unwanted textiles in a number of ways.
Free collection service
Use our free textile collection service by calling Street Services to discuss your options and arrange a collection day.
Items we collect include:
- men's, women's and children's clothing
- paired shoes, boots, wellies and slippers (put them in a bag)
- hats, scarves and gloves
- handbags and belts
- leather clothing
- bed linen, blankets, sheets and pillowcases.
Put the textiles in bags and print out a label to attach to each bag (if you can't print it out, you can attach your own label).
When you leave your bags out, make sure that the label is clearly visible to the collection crew.
