Preferences for a child or young person with an EHCP
If a child or young person has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you will need to tell us your preferred school or setting.
This is part of the school placement process. It is different from applying for a school place through the general admissions system.
You still need to apply directly to schools or settings you prefer for the child or young person.
Depending on the cohort you are applying for, you can tell us if your preference is:
- a mainstream school
- college
- Sixth form
- a special school or setting
- school or setting outside the borough
We'll consider your preferences and work to find the right placement that meets the child or young person's needs as set out in their EHCP.
If the child or young person does not have an EHCP
You must apply through the general school admissions process if the child or young person does not have an EHCP.
