About suspensions and exclusions from school

Suspension

A suspension is when your child is not allowed in school for a set number of days for disciplinary reasons.

Exclusion

An exclusion means your child can no longer attend the school (unless the governing board directs reinstatement).

Exclusion is usually the result of a serious incident, or consistently bad behaviour inside or outside of school.

Exclusions are used by schools as a last resort when all other available alternatives have been tried.
