The Tramshed Theatre

Planning consent was granted in January 2021 for a major refurbishment by the Council of the Tramshed building as part of the overall scheme. The Tramshed, arts centre and community hub is a vital and longstanding contributor to the social and cultural life of the borough, in particular for our young people.

The works to sensitively upgrade the historic building will provide greatly improved facilities for the Tramshed Theatre Company to continue to operate as a community venue long into the future.

Troy Court

Following consultation, the residents of Troy Court have been re-housed within the borough ahead of the demolition of the building.

They have all been offered the ‘right to return’ to a new flat within the development when it is complete; these new flats will be of the same or larger floor area, and with the same number of bedrooms as their previous flats.

Other nearby properties

The Gurdwara Sahib Temple and the Armstrong estate will not be redeveloped as part of the scheme.
