Tell us you're moving out of Royal Greenwich

You'll need to tell us:

  • your Council Tax account number
  • the address you're moving out of
  • the date you're moving out
  • your new address

If you're selling the property and moving out

You'll also need to tell us the solicitor or estate agent name and contact details.

If you're renting the property

You'll also need to:

  • tell us the landlord or managing agent name and contact details
  • upload a signed and dated copy of the checkout report

If you still own the property and you're renting it out, you'll need to upload a signed copy of the tenancy agreement.

If you're moving out and leaving your property empty

You will still be liable to pay Council Tax on your empty property.

What happens next

We'll send your final bill to your new address. You can also view your bill in your online Council Tax account.

You must continue to pay until you get your final bill. If this means you pay too much, you can claim a refund.

Remember to tell your new council you're moving in.

If you get Council Tax Support or Housing Benefit

You'll need to tell the Benefits team that you're moving. It could affect your benefits if you do not tell them about a change of circumstances.
