If the person was living somewhere other than their sole or main home when they died

If we do not know that the person was permanently living elsewhere when they died, we may need to adjust their Council Tax account. This includes if they moved:

  • to a care home or hospital
  • elsewhere to receive care
  • elsewhere to provide care

You'll need to let us know that someone has died and give us your details so we can make the changes.

We may ask you for information about them and where they died.

We may also ask you about the sole or main home they left when they moved.

What happens next.
