Apply for a Council Tax discount if you have an annex

If you use your annex as part of your main house

If your property has an annex with its own Council Tax band, you can get a 50% discount if you:

  • use it as part of your main house, for example, as a gym
  • do not rent it out to anyone else to live in

What you need to apply

You'll need to fill in and send us the application form with proof that you're eligible for the discount.

On the form you'll need to tell us:

  • your name and address
  • the Council Tax account number for your main house
  • the Council Tax account number for the annex
  • how you use the annex
