Ask for support from the council

Who can get support from the council

You may be eligible for support if you have a condition, illness, disability or addiction that impacts your daily life and wellbeing.

For example, stops you from doing daily activities such as:

  • shopping for food
  • preparing a meal, eating a healthy diet, or drinking enough
  • accessing and using the toilet
  • getting dressed or undressed
  • managing your personal care and hygiene
  • moving around inside your home safely
  • keeping your home clean and tidy
  • using equipment in your home safely
  • caring for a child that you look after
  • keeping in contact with friends or family
  • working in a job, studying or volunteering
  • taking part in social activities and using local facilities

You can get support if you’re unable to do these tasks safely without support. Or if doing them causes you pain, distress or anxiety.
