University of Greenwich supported internship programme
The University of Greenwich supported internship programme gives you work experience in a university environment.
You will complete work placements in different parts of the university to develop workplace skills and find out what types of work you enjoy.
You will get support from tutors, job coaches and workplace mentors throughout the programme.
Work placements
The work placements available may include:
Reception
You could:
- welcome students, staff and visitors
- answer questions
- help people find where they need to go
Administration
You could:
- file and scan documents
- enter information onto systems
- organise documents and other information
- help with general office tasks
Café and barista work
You could:
- prepare drinks
- serve customers
- take payments
- help keep the café clean and tidy
Maintenance
You could:
- help with basic maintenance tasks
- support staff looking after university buildings
- help keep buildings safe and well maintained
Library
You could:
- organise books and other resources
- help library users
- help keep study areas organised and welcoming
Concierge
You could:
- welcome students, staff and visitors
- provide information
- help people find where they need to go
- support the day-to-day running of university buildings
Support during the programme
You will get support to:
- develop skills for work
- become more confident and independent at work
- improve your communication, teamwork and customer service skills
- write your CV
- prepare for job interviews
- look for paid employment
