Get involved in the new draft Local Plan consultation
The consultation runs from Monday 27 July to Sunday 6 September 2026 at 11:59pm.
This is a Regulation 19 consultation, which focuses on whether the draft Local Plan is legally compliant and meets the Government’s tests of soundness. All representations received at this stage will be sent to the inspector as part of the examination.
A plan is considered sound if it's:
- positively prepared to meet development and infrastructure needs
- justified by proportionate and robust evidence
- effective and deliverable over the plan period
- consistent with national policy
Comments should focus on whether the plan meets this criteria, rather than suggesting new sites or policy ideas, as it's now in its final pre-submission form.
