Fly-tipping is the deliberate dumping of rubbish in a place where it should not be left. For example, a single bag of rubbish, a mattress, or builders waste.
We'll investigate and clear fly tips from land we're responsible for.
We cannot usually help if the problem is on:
If the problem is on a red route, contact Transport for London (TfL).
We do not collect shopping trolleys as they belong to the retail company. Report an abandoned shopping trolley to Trolleywise.
You'll need to tell us:
You can add photos or videos to your report.
You can also report a fly-tip by phone or email.
Call 020 8921 5025 and leave a message at any time. Include your contact details and we'll reply Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Email: envirocrime@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
We'll try to clear the rubbish within 48 hours of receiving your report. If it's hazardous waste, it may take longer.
If the rubbish is on private land, it's the responsibility of the owner or occupier to have it cleared. This includes shared alleyways and access roads.
Contact a licensed waste carrier to remove it.
You should make sure your land is secure to prevent fly-tipping. You could face a penalty and further investigation if someone fly-tips on your land.
