Applications are now open for 13 trade apprenticeships, that are funded by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and don’t need prior experience.
With roles in areas of high demand such as carpenters, plasterers, plumbers, gas fitters and electricians, the apprenticeships ensure residents with an interest in trade, have the opportunity to secure a good job, as set out in our Corporate Plan, Our Greenwich.
The 13 roles offer a salary of £23,628, and successful applicants will join the Council maintenance and repairs team, ensuring that all our tenants have a safe and decent home to live in.
Councillor Denise Hyland, Cabinet Member for Finance, Resources and Social Value said: “We urge Royal Greenwich residents to apply for these trade roles and join the Council at a time of great change and development. “Not only will you be working towards your own career and ambitions as you get paid while you learn, but you will also be an essential part of improving council homes and supporting our communities.”

The vacancy is open from 14 June to 9 July 2023. The apprenticeship is open to Royal Greenwich residents.
Greenwich Local Labour and Business (GLLB), the council’s employment support team, is hosting the below information sessions for residents to learn more about the roles and receive support with their application.
- Tuesday 27 June, 2pm to 4pm at the GLLaB Work and Learn Centre, The Old Library Calderwood Street, Woolwich SE18 6QW
- Friday 30 June, 10am to 12noon at the GLLaB Work and Learn Centre, The Old Library Calderwood Street, Woolwich SE18 6QW
