A statement from the Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Environment, Sustainability and Transport

“We’re pleased to announce that the Royal Borough of Greenwich and Transport for London (TfL) have agreed plans to make improvements to a cycle route between Greenwich and Woolwich.

We have listened to feedback to help improve the layout of the cycle lane.

A temporary cycle lane was installed between Greenwich and Woolwich using a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) during the pandemic to help people get around the borough by bike more easily and safely. The Council will now use an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO) to trial the amended layout for up to 18 months, before taking a decision on whether to make the scheme permanent. The final decision will be subject to formal consultation.
