The doors have finally opened at a new state-of-the-art school building at Kidbrooke Park Primary, following a multi-million-pound investment by the council.

Teachers and students can look forward to many years of fun and learning at the new fit-for-purpose building, which replaces old facilities that were no longer suitable or financially viable to improve.

The council invested significantly in developing the new site, which was delivered by partners at Galliford Try, in order to provide the best possible facilities for pupils.

Construction began in January 2020 and, now complete, the new building will cater for 420 primary and 52 nursery pupils, with a Behaviour Support Unit that can host up to 18 children.

The landscaped surroundings include a multi-use games area (MUGA) and changing block, to ensure pupils are provided with the tools and inspiration to reach their full potential. Kidbrooke Park Primary welcomed guests to an opening ceremony

Students welcomed Councillor Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, at an opening ceremony on 15 July.

Cllr Morrow said: “The council is committed to investing in our children’s future, and we’re determined to ensure every young person has the best possible education.

“I’m thrilled that the new facilities at Kidbrooke Park Primary School are open, and I’m sure pupils will thrive in this fantastic learning environment.

“Considering all of the challenges in the last 18 months, it is terrific to see this project come to fruition.

“It’s a real testament to the hard-work and planning of all involved that we are here today with a facility that will benefit young people in our borough for many, many years to come.”
