Over lockdown, whilst we were inside, our team was working hard to rejuvenate Villas Road Playground on the Glyndon Estate and we happy to say - it's now open! On 9 July children from around the area had a fantastic time, trying out the new play equipment and running about on the new surface. 

It has been an ongoing project and although it's been a tricky time, we've made sure these works have carried on over the past few weeks. Childminder and mother, Sabrena Gilkes, said "The playground's absolutely amazing, it's got a lot more things for the younger children. We've been stuck in the house for too long and to have a local playground open again, I'll be using it a lot more. It's perfect timing."

Cllr Adel Khaireh, Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities and Equalities, was there for the grand opening too and said "This has completely changed the landscape of this area. Hopefully we're going to be doing more of this across the borough. I'll definitely be bringing my children here."
