Kids in Greenwich don't have to worry where their next meal is coming from this half-term as the Council's mobile kitchen, Holiday Meals, returns to serve up another round of healthy free meals.
The kitchen made its debut during the summer holidays followed by the October half-term holidays when it served up delicious lunches to school-aged children from across the borough.
'Food poverty is a real issue'
Cllr Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Council, said: "During term-time many of the borough's children benefit from a healthy free school lunch, but the holidays are a stressful time for parents struggling with austerity to pay for extra meals."
"Food poverty is a real issue for many families and with this scheme the Council can help to make sure that no child goes hungry. And, besides the obvious advantage of a full stomach, the children have a great time eating delicious food with their mates."
Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the youth clubs and children under 6 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to the adventure playgrounds.
