Want to give back to your local community? Join your neighbours in keeping our spaces clean, green and beautiful this Volunteers’ Week.

Love Your Neighbourhood is a volunteer scheme in the Royal Borough of Greenwich for residents who want to help keep their area clean and well-maintained. You can show some love for where you live by taking part in community clean-ups, taking care of our parks, and reporting issues like litter or graffiti in public spaces.

A spokesperson for the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: “There are so many ways to ‘Love Your Neighbourhood’ this Volunteers’ Week and beyond. Even small actions can have a big impact on you and your neighbours.

“Sign up to ‘Love Your Neighbourhood’ now and find out how you can make a difference to your community's well-being and help make Royal Greenwich a vibrant, sustainable and attractive place to live.”

Environment Champion, Felicity, said: “Our street cleaner does a great job, but it feels good to do things within your neighbourhood yourself too. Through litter picking and weeding on our street, I’ve met so many of my neighbours and made lots of new friends.

“By volunteering to take care of your area, you can have fun, meet people and get a bit of exercise, as well as feeling that you’ve done your bit for your local environment and made where you live a much nicer place.”
