How we're building

Our new homes are designed to be:

Truly affordable

Greenwich Builds homes are let at rents which are actually affordable for the local residents on our housing waiting lists.

High quality and efficiently constructed

Where possible Greenwich Builds homes will be built using the latest modular construction techniques, allowing high quality, energy-efficient homes which will last a lifetime to be built quickly, with minimum disruption.

Sustainable

Running our new homes will have minimal environmental impact, as we are aiming for them to meet zero carbon standards in line with our Carbon Neutral Plan.

Responsive to need

We’re building as many family homes (three or more bedrooms) as possible in order to meet the demand on our housing waiting list. One in 10 of our homes will be wheelchair-adapted, responding to the needs of residents who have a physical disability.

Economically viable

To pay for the building of much-needed homes we are using a combination of grant funding from the Mayor of London, Right to Buy receipts and loans, which will be recouped over time by rental income from Greenwich Builds tenants.
