Join a housing panel
Housing panels aim to improve the quality of life for residents and are made up of council tenants, leaseholders and local councillors. Council staff also attend to provide information and answer questions.
We have local housing panels which are open for everyone, and borough-wide panels which select representatives from the local panels.
Local housing panels
Each panel covers a few estates and meets four times a year. Meetings are open to the public so all local residents are welcome to attend.
They discuss issues such as:
- cleansing and maintenance
- community safety
- improving service standards and service delivery
- issues affecting your neighbourhood and environment

Get extra training and support
You don't need any special skills to be on a housing panel, but we do offer training and support for anyone who wants to be more confident and learn more about meetings.
Borough wide housing panel
The borough wide housing panel brings together elected members from each housing panel to discuss issues from across the borough.
Meetings take place four times a year. They are open to the public so all local residents are welcome to attend.
