Before you apply to join the housing register

When you apply, you'll need to send us copies of certain documents and information. Get them ready before you fill in the application form.  

Details about you and your household 

We need:  

  • personal details, nationality, health and support needs for yourself and all members of your household  
  • details of your current housing situation and why you need help finding a new home 

If you need to tell us about any medical needs, we’ll need supporting evidence for the condition or disability. For example, a consultant letter or repeat prescription.  

Passport or other form of ID  

We need this for every member of your household.  

If any member of your household is not a British citizen, we need proof of their immigration status.  

Proof of your income for the last 3 months  

For example:  

  • payslips  
  • every page of your benefits statements  
  • bank statements
