Voluntary and community sector
The voluntary and community sector is made up of voluntary and community groups, including faith groups and social enterprises.
It aims to develop relationships with residents and communities, to support some of the most vulnerable who are affected by poverty, inequality and social and economic exclusion.
We believe strong and vibrant voluntary and community groups are at the heart of a fairer Greenwich.

Voluntary and community sector strategy
The five-year strategy outlines how we aim to do as much as possible with restricted finances, to achieve the best possible outcomes for everyone.
It was developed in recognition that the voluntary and community sector is essential for helping us carrying out future plans for the borough.
The VCS strategy was developed with:
- local voluntary and community organisations
- Metropolitan Police
- London Fire Brigade
- NHS Greenwich.
