External improvements
External home improvements are repairs or refurbishments done to the outside of a council home or block. This will include but is not limited to:
- new windows and doors
- installing new roofs
- repairing concrete and timber walkways
- building new gutters and communal outdoor spaces
- lift replacements
- cavity and external wall insulation
- external decoration work: painting, brickwork repair etc.
- communal heating system improvements
- CCTV upgrades
Completed external works
In the 2023 to 2024 financial year, we:
- installed 2 air source heat pumps
- installed 6 communal heating systems
- installed 43 photovoltaic (solar) panels
- replaced 322 windows
- replaced 682 individual front doors
- replaced 23 individual back doors
In the 2022 to 2023 financial year we:
- installed 8 air source heat pumps
- installed 9 communal heating systems
- replaced 347 individual front doors
- replaced 25 individual back doors
