Check if you are eligible for medical priority on the housing register

You may be eligible for medical priority if:

  • your health or disability is caused or made worse by your home, for example if it’s hard to move around safely or access rooms
  • your home cannot be adapted to your needs at a reasonable cost

We will consider whether relocating you to a more suitable home is likely to improve your health or disability as part of the medical assessment.

You must already be on the housing register before you apply for medical priority.

If you need a paper version of the form, call 020 8921 2941 and press 1. We can post the form to your address or arrange for it to be picked up at The Woolwich Centre.

If you need help completing the online form, you can visit The Woolwich Centre and ask for a member of staff to guide you through it in person.

What happens next

Our team will assess your situation using the housing allocation scheme. We may contact you if we need more information.

We will send you a letter telling you the outcome of the assessment.

How long it takes for a decision

It will take up to four weeks to receive a decision.

We do around 3,000 assessments each year. This means that we cannot assess your case as fast we would like to.
