FreeWe’re your local Co-production Team, and we believe something simple but powerful, bringing people together is the key. Whether it’s for a chat, a laugh, or a real talk about what’s working (or not) in social care, real change starts when real people sit down together,
So, guess what?
We’re doing exactly that, and you’re invited,
What’s Happening?
On Friday 4th July 2025, we’re creating a Public Living Room right in General Gordon Square, and we’d love for you to come by,
It’ll be a cosy, open space with sofas, a kettle, and of course… biscuits! No speeches, no PowerPoints, no pressure, just a chance to connect with other local people, share your thoughts, have a natter, or simply hang out in a friendly space,
Just bring yourself, that’s more than enough,
Why We’re Doing This
This week is Co-production Week 2025, that might sound a bit formal, but here’s what it really means, and why it matters to us in Greenwich,
What Is Co-production?
Co-production is about doing things with people, not to them,
It means people who access support, unpaid carers, families and professionals all work together, as equals, to shape how things are done,
It’s not about ticking a box, it’s about recognising that the people closest to the challenge are also closest to the solution,
Your voice matters,
Your lived (or living) experience is real knowledge,
When we build things together, we build them better, for everyone,
As one of our brilliant local carers, Lena, put it:
“Co-production gave me a voice, for the first time, I felt like I wasn’t being talked over, I was part of shaping something real, it wasn’t just about ticking a box, it felt like change.”
Why Here, Why Now?
Because this is your community, and Greenwich is full of amazing people with ideas, experience, and heart, some we’ve worked with, and many we haven’t met yet,
We want to talk to people who use support services, carers, families, residents who want to get involved, and anyone who just fancies popping in for a chat,
You don’t have to come with a plan, just come as you are,
Co-production Week is all about innovation, but it starts with something very simple, talking, listening, and sharing space,
What’s a Public Living Room?
It’s exactly what it sounds like, a big, friendly living room right in the middle of town, no agenda, no pressure, just a space to be human together,
This idea comes from the Camerados movement, and we’re excited to bring it to Greenwich, if it works well, maybe we’ll even pop up more of them.
Let’s make Greenwich a place where decisions are made together, where everyone has a seat at the table, and where every voice counts,
Can’t wait to see you there,
With warmth and the kettle already on,
Debora, Em and Isaac
