Isese Lagba Heritage: Two Day Holiday Event Program

Join us at the Birichere Community Hub, Thamesmead, on the 2 and 3 of April for a vibrant celebration of culture and history! Our 'Isese Lagba Heritage' event, part of the Black History 365 series, offers children aged five to 16 a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in enriching activities including kids' cooking training, art and craft workshops, and drumming sessions.

Day One

Discovering Culinary Arts

• 12 noon to 2pm - Kids' Cooking Training - Introduction to African Cuisine

• 2 to 3pm - Lunch and Learn Session - The Story Behind Our Dishes

• 3 to 4pm - Cooking Challenge - Teams Create Their Version of a Traditional Dish

Day Two

Drumming and Rhythm Workshop

• 12 noon to 2pm - Introduction to African Drumming - Feel the Beat

• 2 to 3pm - Interactive Drum Circle - Everyone Joins In

• 3 to 4pm - Performance Preparation - Rehearsing for Our Show

Each day will culminate in a mini-exhibition or performance, showcasing the participants' hard work and creativity to family and friends. Our activities are designed to inspire, educate, and celebrate the rich heritage and contributions of African cultures.

Notes

• All materials for cooking, art, and drumming sessions will be provided.

• Participants should wear comfortable clothing suitable for hands-on activities.

• Snacks and lunch will be provided, with attention to dietary restrictions.
