Enjoy a taster workshop mixing beautiful colours, pouring unique designs, and turning them into real-life objects.

This workshop will begin with a brief introduction and understanding of what Jesmonite is, how it behaves as a material, what we can use it for, how to mix it, and how to manipulate the material for specific design techniques and patterns. There will be an interactive demo before pouring each task, and then individual pouring of your object of choice.

Pouring the first piece can really advance our understanding of Jesmonite's abilities and limits as a material, teaching us about its pot life and consistency changes. This immersive experience is hugely educational and fun, making each next object to cast a new challenge, incorporating the ever-growing knowledge and observations from the last pour!

This is a really enjoyable workshop to do with friends, family, or solo!

Extra info/cautions: Please be mindful that we are working with an eco resin. Although this does not have a harmful offset characteristic, it is not good to get in eyes, ingest, or inhale.

Age requirement is 12 years and over unless parents accompany their children and are confident the kids can maintain a safe relationship with the material.

A bio about me, the teacher: Hi, my name is Ellie, and I am a freelance artist and art fabricator, specialising in sculpture. After three exciting years working in an art fabrication studio in Brooklyn, I learned the tricks of the trade and took part in making some very beautiful projects. I have a passion and connection for teaching people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. I have over ten years of teaching experience in separate fields, so hosting creative workshops is one of my favourite things to do! I am here to help, advise, and guide you through your own creative journey. The most important outcome from my classes is that everyone really enjoyed themselves. I think art is an incredible tool that we forget to utilise in daily life to relieve the stresses we find ourselves under. I always feel a great sense of accomplishment when I have made some beautiful (and useful) creations at the end of the lesson. If this sounds like a bit of you, I hope to see you there!
