Join us for an afternoon of family friendly performances, workshops, games and community fun at the Gallions Park Picnic 2023! Following the success of last year’s event, we are once again bringing you professional and community performances, interactive games, talks and workshops in the beautiful Thamesmead park.

This year’s exciting event is hosted by André Bright. The line-up includes:

1 pm FlavRcise Dance Fitness Energetic Afrofusion dance

1:25 pm GD Collective Greenwich Dance’s performance company

1:30 pm Costa Rica in the UK A beautiful display of Costa Rican culture. Get ready to join in!

2 pm Trinity Laban – Boundless Creative music and dance from Boundless older adults group

2:10 pm Utopia Cheer Energetic cheerleading involving stunts, gymnastics and dance

2:20 pm Beeja Dance Joyful Bollywood dance

2:30 pm Norvil & Josephine – Top Hat A dazzling, comedy magic act performed on a giant top hat!

3 pm Kiduku Rhythms workshop High energy Afrobeat fusion with cool Swahili vibes

3:30 pm Costa Rica in the UK

4 pm Dynamix Dance Thamesmead’s exciting school of dance for young people

4:10 pm Royal Greenwich Music Service A performance by the music education service for schools

4:30 pm Norvil & Josephine – Top Hat

5 pm TARU Arts Brazilian drumming, mask making and a grand finale parade for all to take part in!

Plus games, ice cream, face painting, stalls from, Bethany’s Beautiful Beads, Amabel Illustrations, West Thamesmead Church, children’s craft activities from West Thamesmead Residents Association, a herb hunt with Juice and Herb, The Camouflage Cafe, calligraphy and printing from Meet Hong Kong, a bar run by The Green Goddess pub and a raffle! Don’t forget to pack a picnic!

The Gallions Park Picnic is part of Summer in the Park, a Greenwich Dance and Arts Trust Productions project which is supported by The National Lottery Community Fund, Royal Greenwich Festivals, Peabody and The Royal Parks.
