The theme of Eltham Choral Society's Easter Concert is Music for a Coronation. The concert will feature choral works, including Handel's Coronation Anthems, Parry's I was Glad and organ solos.
Eltham Choral Society is a mixed choir of around 70 voices who have been performing in Eltham for over 100 years!. For our Easter concert, as well as performing music for a coronation, including Handel's Coronation Anthems, Parry's 'I was Glad' and some organ solos, we are also singing a piece that is very special to us - a setting of Aesop's fables by Bob Chilcott which was written especially for us and of which the first performance was given by us in 2008.
The concert will take place in Eltham Parish Church -opposite McDonalds and tickets are available on the door, from Norman's Music in Eltham and on line from TicketSource - www.ticketsource.co.uk/eltham-choral-society. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for children under 16. Refreshments , including wine, soft drinks and savoury nibbles will be available at the interval.
Eltham Choral Society rehearses at the United Reformed Church in Court Road Eltham at 7.30.pm every Thursday evening during term time. New singers are alway welcome - just come along to try us out - there are no auditions!
