To achieve this we will:
- work to keep children and young people safe and happy at home, in their community, online and in education
- work in partnership to improve outcomes for all children. With a focus on those facing disadvantage, children with additional needs, vulnerable people and children in our care
- improve the care system so more children can stay close to their families, communities and support networks
- protect children from exploitation, violence and harm by strengthening families and communities to people get the right help at the right time
Our social care commitments
We commit to:
- strengthening prevention and early help, family-led decision making and multi agency support so children can safely stay with their families and communities
- improving access so there's one place to go for mental health support so families and professionals can find the right service
Our fostering and residential care commitments
We commit to:
- strengthening local fostering and kinship care through recruitment, retention, targeted support and housing solutions
- more local authority residential provision for children in our care
