Outcome 2: Fewer people experience anti-social behaviour and residents feel safe in their neighbourhoods
We will:
- tackle anti-social behaviour quickly, combining firm and fair enforcement with action to prevent it. From better-lit streets, to safer and more welcoming town centres and public spaces
- make sure residents feel safe and confident in their neighbourhoods, day and night, and can move around and enjoy their community without fear
Our commitments to community safety
We commit to:
- recruiting more officers to patrol our town centres, so people feel safe and confident visiting at night
- give the council the power to take action against anti-social behaviour. This includes abusive language, threatening or intimidating behaviour, alcohol or substance use
- expand our CCTV coverage so residents are safe on our estates and around our neighbourhoods
