Outcome 3: Fewer households struggle financially
We will:
- reduce how many households struggle to make ends meet
- help residents claim what they are entitled to and easily find advice and support
- work with families feeling the impact of cost of living rises - not just those in crisis - by joining up support on money, benefits, housing and energy
- work with partners to create a joined up approach to support residents
Our commitments
We commit to:
- bring council services and partners together so people or families are fully supported and not passed between services
- supporting residents to claim everything they are entitled to
- identifying people at risk of financial crisis and give them targeted and personalised support
- finding routes into better paid and more secure jobs to give them long-term financial security
- supporting food pantries and new food clubs so more residents can access affordable food and rely less on emergency food from foodbanks
- improving council homes so they are more energy efficient to lower energy bills
