Corporate plan theme 7: The council that gets things done

Outcome 3: Work with communities to solve challenges

We will:

  • communicate honestly and clearly with our communities, listen to our residents and give them a voice to shape the services and decisions that affect them
  • empower communities to act for themselves
  • work in partnership across the borough to tackle shared challenges together and deliver commitments

Our commitments

We commit to:

  • resolve enquiries and problems faster so councillors can serve their communities more efficiency and with accountability
  • get resident feedback and apply it to the work we do, and keep residents informed of how and why we make decisions
  • understand our residents and adapt how we communicate and engage with them based on their needs
  • understanding how residents feel about key issues across the borough
  • strengthen young people's routes into council decision-making through the Greenwich Young People's Council and Young Advisors
  • supporting voluntary, community and faith organisations through our new grants programme by continuing to fund the sector and investing in the infrastructure partners that make it more resilient
