Assessment criteria for Create grant

When you apply for a Create grant, we'll assess your application against clear criteria. 

These criteria ensure that funding is awarded fairly and that projects deliver real benefit to local communities in the borough.

Your application should show that your project meets the aims of the Create fund, is well planned and offers good value for money.

How we score your application

Your application will be scored out of 18. Each criterion is scored as:

  • 0 points = not matched
  • 1 point = partially matched
  • 2 points = matched

Project description

The maximum points you can get for project description is 8 points.

We'll assess:

  • what you want to do and why (you'll need to show how your project engages young people as creators, audiences and participants)
  • who'll attend, participate or benefit
  • how your project helps deliver the Culture Strategy, including which principles it aligns to
  • how many workshops, exhibitions or performances your project will include

Partnerships 

The maximum points you can get for partnerships is 4 points.

We'll assess:

  • which artists or organisations you plan to work with and what they'll do
  • how the partnership will offer good value for money

Promotion

The maximum points you can get for promotion is 2 points.

We'll assess how you'll promote your project so it's clear and accessible.

Budget 

The maximum points you can get for budget is 4 points.

We'll assess:

  • whether the budget is realistic for the project proposed
  • whether the budget meets our criteria (for example, no costs requested for items we will not fund)
