Help with paying rent

It is important that you tell us immediately if you have any problems paying your rent on time. We can give you advice on Housing Benefit. We may also be able to help you claim other welfare benefits.

Housing benefit for Council tenants

If you are on a low income, you may qualify for Housing Benefit. If you need help to complete the Housing Benefit application form, please contact the Advice and Benefits team.

Housing Benefit does not cover your charges for water rates, heating, insurance, or a garage or shed if you rent it separately – you still have to pay for these yourself.
