Health and wellbeing support for schools

Overview 

We provide advice, guidance and support to enhance health and wellbeing in school. 

This includes: 

  • curriculum development
  • understanding health and wellbeing needs using the Schools Health Education Unit (SHEU) survey to gather insight and data
  • how to adopt a whole-school approach to health and wellbeing using the Healthy Schools London framework to achieve the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards
  • the role of leaders, managers, teachers, policy, partnerships and extracurricular activities 

We support schools and other education providers in Royal Greenwich.

Approach, policies and practice 

We can support you to develop: 

  • a school ethos and learning climate
  • health and wellbeing policies and practices 

Curriculum planning

We can support you with curriculum planning around:

  • drug awareness and alcohol education (including smoking and vaping)
  • healthy eating
  • LGBTQ+ inclusion
  • mental health
  • relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) 

Training and professional development for staff 

We provide training and development for: 

  • healthy schools
  • personal, social and health education (PHSE
  • relationships, sex and health education (RSHE) 

Partnerships and providers

We can support your school to establish partnerships to support pupil health and wellbeing. This includes: 

  • council services, such as Commissioning and Public Health
  • health and wellbeing organisations 

We can quality assure: 

  • health and wellbeing providers 

Pupil and parent voice 

We offer advice and support for working with parents or carers to establish partnerships for learning in the specialist areas above. 

Costs

We do not charge Royal Greenwich schools for our health and wellbeing support.
