A holistic approach to wellbeing
We work closely with our outreach counselling and restorative practice colleagues. Together we offer a range of approaches to help improve outcomes for children and young people experiencing difficulties with:
- learning
- social and emotional development
- wellbeing
Service details
How we work
We often work with children and young people who:
- have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- are at risk of exclusion
- experiencing social or emotional deprivation
We work with any student who needs support to overcome barriers to their:
- learning
- communication
- social and emotional wellbeing
- physical health
- sensory needs
We work closely with teachers, parents or carers, and professionals to:
- assess and identify needs
- design interventions
- improve educational attainment and emotional resilience
- promote inclusive practice
What we offer
Consultation and assessment
We’ll collaborate with you to understand issues that affect:
- the whole organisation
- any particular groups
- the individual student
We’ll then:
- gather information from a range of sources
- apply psychological models and approaches
- decide what involvement would best address the concerns identified
Interventions
Usually, we work with you and the parents or carers to jointly develop bespoke interventions that address the concerns identified. School staff will often deliver actions and interventions, but in some cases, we might deliver direct interventions
Training and supervision
We can:
- design bespoke training programmes to meet your needs
- support you to apply learning to improve your practices and evaluate the impact
Training topics include:
- cognition and learning
- social, emotional and mental health
- specific needs
- voice of the child and family
We can offer individual staff:
- coaching
- supervision
- development programmes
We also offer Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) and Mediating Learning Support Approach (MELSA) training and supervision.
Research and policy development
We’re trained and experienced in carrying out research and developing policy. We can support you with:
- gathering relevant information
- selecting intervention and evaluation tools that monitor the impact
- data analysis
Assistant Educational Psychologist (AEP) support
AEPs are psychology graduates who are interested in training as an EP and have experience working with children and young people.
AEPs can:
- run specific interventions
- support implementation of interventions
- deliver training
Under the direct guidance and supervision of EPs, AEPs can work directly with:
- children and young people
- teachers
- parents, carers and families

Our charges apply to schools in Royal Greenwich.
