Attendance support for schools

Overview 

Our specialists take a flexible and holistic approach that’s responsive to pupils’ needs.

Through early intervention, we assist in:

  • improving school attendance and reducing persistent absence
  • invest in pupils’ social and emotional development and wellbeing

Service details

Core statutory service 

We provide to all schools:

  • communication and advice
  • targeted support meetings
  • advice on multi-disciplinary support
  • legal intervention - enforcement and penalty notices

We also provide all schools with guidance and management for:

  • children missing education
  • elective home education
  • child employment

Additional support to schools with a service level agreement (SLA)

We offer strategic support, advice and guidance on:

  • legislation
  • statutory requirements
  • DfE initiatives
  • whole school attendance systems
  • attendance policies
  • reduction of absence (overall, persistent and severe)
  • data analysis
  • code analysis and absence categorisation

We also:

  • undertake case management on referral
  • share good practice
  • help with preparation for Ofsted inspections

We develop and produce: 

  • attendance strategies
  • associated guidance

We provide advice on targeted support to: 

  • attendance leads and officers and pastoral staff
  • pupils and families 

Costs

Costs to non-maintained schools needing additional support through an SLA.

We charge £356 to £458 per day for a specialist advisor, depending on your needs. 

We offer a range of service packages (all exclude travel costs):

For schools outside Royal Greenwich, we charge an extra 10% for all services.
