You can report works that you think are being done without permission. We call this unauthorised development.
This helps us to protect the local environment and prevent damage to trees.
When someone breaks planning rules, our enforcement team can take action.
Report a breach of planning control
Some examples of a breach of planning rules or controls include:
- doing building works without planning permission
- doing building works in a way that is different from the proposal we granted permission for
- failing to follow planning conditions attached to planning permissions
You can only report breaches to us for properties in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
After your report a breach
The planning enforcement team will:
- investigate your complaint
- establish if it breaks a planning control
- decide the best way to remedy the situation
- use enforcement powers to remedy the situation
