The Carer-Inclusive Workplace Accreditation
Specifically developed in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the Carer-inclusive Workplace Accreditation is a flexible, quality standard established to support employers with providing more inclusive work environments for employees who are also unpaid carers.
The service aims to support business, reduce costs and support unpaid carers within the workforce to sustain paid employment. The overall objective of the service is to reduce the number of people dropping out of paid employment to continue providing essential unpaid care in poverty.
The Carer-inclusive Workplace Accreditation is the brainchild of Greenwich Carers Centre's Chief Executive and operates from the busy and popular carers centre in Charlton, SE7. The centre provides a host of support and development opportunities for unpaid carers broadly delivered under four key strategic aims;
- Engaging unpaid carers with support
- Reducing carer isolation
- Improving health and wellbeing
- Reducing carer poverty
Greenwich Carers Centre includes a dedicated carer support team providing a tailored, and often life transforming, one-to-one support service for the borough’s community of unpaid carers.
Either the carer, or the 'cared-for' should be registered with a GP within the Royal Borough of Greenwich to access the services of Greenwich Carers Centre.

- less risk of breaches to licensing conditions (noise, public safety) by not selling alcohol to drunk people
