If you're carrying out work that requires building control, you must send us a completion notice within five days of completing the work. The client, agent or builder can do this.
We will not visit your site for a completion inspection until we’ve received this notice.
Before you submit a completion notice, you or your builder will need to supply certain test results or certificates. For a domestic extension, this may include:
- electrical installation certificate
- fire alarm installation and commissioning certificate
- gas certificate
- double-glazing specification
Download and submit the completion notice:
We need this notice before we inspect the completed work or issue a completion certificate.
Completion certificate
We will issue a completion certificate once we:
- have received all the certificates
- are satisfied that you have complied with regulations
Keep this safe as you'll need it if you wish to remortgage or sell the property.
