New roads
We will usually make an agreement with developers to adopt newly constructed roads. We will not do this if they do not meet our guidelines.
Existing roads
We rarely adopt existing private roads, unless the owners of the road bring them up to current standards.
Existing private roads, are often unpaved and do not have kerbs, footways, surface water sewers, gullies and lighting. Road surfaces are sometimes in a poor condition.
