Snow Champions help keep the pavements in their neighbourhood safe and walkable during the winter.
Volunteers clear snow and ice from pavements that are not part of the council’s priority gritting routes. This helps residents move around safely during cold weather.
What Snow Champions do
Snow Champions help by:
- clearing snow and ice from local pavements
- spreading de-icing salt when needed
- helping neighbours move around safely
You can volunteer on streets near where you live.
What we provide
If you become a Snow Champion, we will provide:
- snow-clearing equipment
- de-icing salt
- guidance and support
The scheme is currently in development for next winter.
