The Home Library Service is for Royal Greenwich residents who find it difficult to access our libraries.
You can request:
- books in standard or large print
- audiobooks on CD or cassette
- DVDs and music CDs
- books in other languages
- jigsaw puzzles
If you live in residential care, you can borrow items for up to 9 weeks.
Who can use this service
You can use this service if you are:
- an older person with limited mobility
- living with a disability, long-term illness, or reduced mobility
- recovering from surgery or illness
- a child or adult with additional needs
- unable to leave your home independently
- living in your own home, residential care, or sheltered housing
Carers, family members or organisations can refer someone to the service on their behalf.
How to join the home library service
You can apply for yourself or refer someone by:
- calling 020 8921 4411
- sending an email to libraries@royalgreenwich.gov.uk
- applying online at Better.org.uk
What happens next
We’ll deliver items to your residence every 4 to 6 weeks.
Our staff will then visit you each month to find out what you’d like to read, listen to or watch next.
You do not need to return items yourself, as we’ll handle everything from delivery to returns.
